San Andrés and Providencia is a department of Colombia located west of the Caribbean Sea, 775 kilometers (480 nautical miles) northwest of the coast Atlantic country and 220 km (140 nautical miles) from the eastern coast of Nicaragua. The departmental capital is San Andrés and has only one municipality, Providencia and Santa Catalina Islands.
